Minkey Under 7s and Modified Under 9s
It seems that Under 9s seemed pretty well orgainised, well done and the Under 7s were coming on well as well. After discussing a few things with the Coaches we have decided to play this way.
Under 7s all turn up at 9.00am and have a 7 minute warm up by our RCD Mathew Bartell. If Mathew is away the coaches will do this. Games then start at 9.10am as shown on the draw. Games will be played 10 minutes and 2.5 minute drinks break, 10 minute game, 2.5 minute drinks break and then 10 minute game. Fields are to be 50 meters long and 25 meters wide, so you can set up 4 fields on one hockey field. 5 players on one team at a time. To not have a bye the Redbacks club who had 12 players will make up two teams. This means a 8 team comp. The only trouble with that is the little Casuarina have no one to play so they will have to mingle in with their other two teams, Unless someone has a simple solution. No games on any holidays. We will also see if we can have our Break up party on Saturday the 15th of August. Playing on Turf on the Saturday with other junior games around may give the break up a bit more importance. With the small warm ups each week their is no need for a development day.
Under 9s will play a half field 50 meters x 50 meters with 7 or 8 children depending on how many each team have. Do we need a development day for our under 9s. I don't know let me know. Also how about the last couple of weeks we play on a full size field. Kingscliff v Casuarina v Murwillumbah what do you think.
